About Pocket Monkey

Pocket Monkey is a family app that helps children learn about investing through virtual company ownership. Children build a portfolio of virtual companies that pay weekly dividends, which are paid into their bank account as pocket money. Parents remain in control of their child's account and approve all payments.

Pocket Monkey does not provide financial advice, issue debit cards or hold money on behalf of parents or children.

Depending on how you use Pocket Monkey, we may collect the following information.

Parent Information

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Authentication details associated with Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, passkeys or password-based login
  • Bank account details used to fund pocket money payments

We may share your personal information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate Pocket Monkey.

  • payment information may be shared with Monoova to process pocket money transfers;
  • authentication information may be processed by Google or Apple when you choose to sign in using those services;
  • technical information and crash reports may be processed by Sentry to help us diagnose and fix software issues; and
  • application data is securely hosted using Deno Deploy.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law or where necessary to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Pocket Monkey relies on trusted third-party providers to deliver parts of our service. These providers may process personal information on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Our current providers include:

  • Google Sign-In – user authentication using a Google account.
  • Apple Sign-In – user authentication using an Apple account.
  • Deno Deploy – hosting and running Pocket Monkey's backend services.
  • Monoova – processing bank payments and recurring pocket money transfers.
  • Sentry – application monitoring, crash reporting and diagnostics.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their services.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

This includes the use of secure cloud infrastructure, encrypted communications and access controls.
